Adam Doueihi has committed to another season with the Wests Tigers as he prepares to return to the NRL following a lengthy injury break.
The 25-year-old fullback spent over a year recovering from an ACL rupture last season, recently making his comeback in the NSW Cup. He has been listed among the reserves for the club’s round 16 game against the Raiders and is optimistic about returning to first grade soon.
Despite earlier reports of a minimum-wage contract, Doueihi has chosen to remain with the team, contributing to the rebuild under coach Benji Marshall.
“It’s been a long journey back from injury for Adam, and it was great to see him playing again last weekend,” said chief executive Shane Richardson. “He’s a talented footballer with incredible resilience and mental toughness. More importantly, he’s a good person.”
With 87 games under his belt and the ability to play various positions, Doueihi is expected to be a valuable asset to Marshall.
“I’m still only 25, and I know my best years are ahead,” Doueihi said. “I’ll be working hard for the rest of this season and next, and I’m excited about the future.”
With four other playmakers—Jarome Luai, Lachlan Galvin, Jayden Sullivan, and Latu Fainu—signed for 2025 and beyond, Doueihi’s future with the Tigers may be in the centres or at lock.
