The Arizona Cardinals have had significant success with their running backs over the years.

They have consistently drafted and signed excellent running backs, contributing to their historical success.

One notable running back was David Johnson, who was among the league’s best for several seasons.

Although he hasn’t played for the Cardinals since 2019, he is now seeking another opportunity with his original team.

Johnson recently shared his future plans on the Up & Adams Show, telling Kay Adams, “My goal is to finish my career where it started, as a Cardinal.”

Despite not playing in the NFL during the 2022 season, Johnson is eager for another opportunity with the Cardinals.

Even if it’s only for a few games, he appears to want to retire as a Cardinal, ending his career where it began.

It will be interesting to see how the Cardinals respond and whether they will offer him a one-year contract to fulfill his wish.

Currently, the Cardinals have several solid running backs, including James Conner and Michael Carter.

With a potentially crowded roster, there might not be much room for Johnson, even though he remains a legendary figure for the team.

Considering he didn’t play in 2023, Johnson’s salary would likely be relatively low, which could support his case as he pitches this idea to the Cardinals ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
