The NRL has issued suspensions for various infractions during recent games. Wests Tigers’ Isaiah Papali’i is facing a week off the field due to a tripping incident. He has the option to accept the suspension with an early guilty plea or risk two weeks if he contests the charge and loses.
Daniel Saifiti from the Newcastle Knights is also facing a suspension for a Grade 2 careless high tackle on Jake Simpkin. Similar to Papali’i, Saifiti can opt for a one-week suspension with an early guilty plea or risk two weeks if he challenges the charge and is unsuccessful.
Additionally, Jackson Hastings from the Knights and Alex Seyfarth from the Wests Tigers have been charged with Grade 1 careless high tackles. Hastings faces a fine of $1000 or $1500 if he chooses to contest and loses, while Seyfarth faces fines of $1800 or $2500 respectively.
In a surprising move, Melbourne Storm’s Harry Grant has been charged for late contact on Daniel Atkinson, despite being sin-binned during the game. Grant faces a fine of $1000 or $1500 depending on his plea.
Furthermore, Matt French from the Rabbitohs has been charged with dangerous contact against Hame Sele and faces a $1000 fine or $1500 if he decides to contest.
All players must decide on their pleas by Monday noon (AEST), with hearings scheduled at NRL headquarters on Tuesday evening.
