As stated by 9NEWS The Denver Broncos, according to Mike Klis, are bringing back offensive tackle Matt Peart from the New York Giants for a one-year contract.

Peart, a formidable 6-7, 315-pound tackle, was chosen in the third round by the Giants in the 2020 NFL Draft. Over the past four seasons, he has been a consistent presence for the team, participating in 43 games, with seven starts to his name. Last season, he appeared in eight games for the Giants, starting once.

While Peart initially showed promise with the Giants, the team’s confidence in him seemed to wane as his career progressed. Now, with Garett Bolles and Mike McGlinchey firmly established as starters, Peart finds himself in competition with Alex Palczewski for the role of swing tackle in the upcoming season.

With Peart secured and Palczewski having earned favor with the team and coaches in the previous year, the Broncos may opt to forgo selecting an offensive tackle in the upcoming draft. Peart provides experience as the veteran swing tackle, while Palczewski offers potential for development. This decision could likely postpone any consideration of drafting a tackle until the later rounds, should they identify a prospect they favor.

The Broncos’ tackle lineup includes Garett Bolles, Mike McGlinchey, Matt Peart, as well as undrafted free agents from 2023, Alex Palczewski and Demontrey Jacobs. Given this lineup, do you believe the Broncos should seek to add another tackle through the draft to compete with this group, or do you feel comfortable proceeding into the season with this current roster?
