Bill Guerin, the President of Hockey Operations and General Manager for the Minnesota Wild, has announced that the NHL team has traded forward Nic Petan to the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Turner Elson. Elson will join the Iowa Wild of the AHL.
Elson, aged 31 (born on September 13, 1992), has amassed 263 points (117 goals, 146 assists) along with 433 penalty minutes, 13 power-play goals, and 14 game-winning goals across 13 AHL seasons with various teams, including Abbotsford, Adirondack, San Antonio, Grand Rapids, and Hartford. This season, he has contributed 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) and 23 penalty minutes in 38 games for Hartford. Additionally, he has played three NHL games, recording one assist with the Calgary Flames and the Detroit Red Wings.
On the other hand, Nic Petan, aged 28 (born on March 12, 1995), has accumulated 281 points (92 goals, 189 assists) throughout his AHL career spanning eight seasons with Manitoba, Toronto, Abbotsford, and Iowa.
