Canterbury Bulldogs’ star player Josh Addo-Carr may return to the field in as little as two weeks, following scans that ruled out a feared broken collarbone. Despite enduring 33 minutes of discomfort in Saturday’s match against Parramatta, Addo-Carr and coach Cameron Ciraldo were worried about a potential serious shoulder injury. However, scans later revealed a sprained AC joint, indicating a shorter recovery time than initially anticipated.

Initially, a 6-8 week absence seemed likely, but Addo-Carr aims to miss only one game and hopes to be back for round 3 against the Titans, albeit while managing the pain from the injury. Meanwhile, the Eels received positive news as scans showed no significant groin issues for star halfback Mitchell Moses, ensuring his availability for the upcoming game against Penrith.

Despite the evident pain and his arm in a sling, Addo-Carr remained on the field until halftime, contributing to his team’s effort despite the discomfort. He was determined to support his team, emphasizing his commitment to returning swiftly and in top form.

Canterbury captain Stephen Crichton recognized Addo-Carr’s toughness and team-first mentality, highlighting his dedication to the team’s success despite facing adversity. Addo-Carr’s physical resilience was evident as he trained through injuries during the preseason, aiming to make a strong impact for his team after a challenging previous season marred by injury.

Coach Ciraldo commended Addo-Carr’s character and resilience, acknowledging the depth within the squad with potential replacements like Connor Tracey and Bronson Xerri waiting for opportunities to shine.
